About Didymus

Didymus came to us with two other owls when his owner became poorly. We have introduced him to Voo Voo but sadly they do not get along. Didymus also likes his sleep and can often be found lying down surrounded by toys as he does not like to share, even when he is clearly not playing with them! He is only a baby and therefore loves to go on little adventures with his friends Hoggle and The Worm. He is usually the first one to venture out of his enclosure, followed closely by the other two!

White-Faced Scops Owl

The northern white-faced owl is a species of owl in the family Strigidae. The southern white-faced owl was formerly included in this species and the two were known as the white-faced scops owl. It is found in a band across Africa between the Sahara and the Equator. In common with other small owls, the White-faced Scops Owl is largely insectivorous, although it will take small birds and small rodents and other mammals.
